Contract note gives you the key details of a particular transaction together with the date, time, price, quantity traded etc. It also includes a ‘Reference Number’ which can be used to cross-check the details of the transaction with the stock exchanges. A valid contract note should have all the details in a structured format defined as per the guidelines.
